Ebiara (Berlinia bracteosa), also known as red zebrawood, is a tree with origin in West and Central Africa, with a growing height of 30-40 m.
Characteristics of the wood are straight to irregular grain, interlocked growth and a rather coarse structure. The white sapwood, sometimes with a pinkish tinge, is clearly distinguishable from the heartwood. The heartwood is brown to yellow and often has dark stripes. Ebiara wood is mainly used indoors as veneer or for woodturning. But it can also be used outdoors, for example for facades or wooden garden products. It can be processed relatively well, although pre-drilling is recommended.

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
