Brazilian Tulipwood (Dalbergia decipularis) has a rose-like scent as it is being worked. It is primarily exported from the port of Bahia in Brazil.
This wood is hard, dense, and has good acoustic qualities, which is why it is also very popular for musical instruments. But it is also a favorite in the furniture-making and turning industries. The available dimensions are rather modest due to the tree's narrow trunk diameter of about 8-10 inches.
The very distinctive and unusual red-cream color and grain always reminds me of strawberry and vanilla ice cream.
Dimensions: approx. 305 x 50 x 50 mm

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
