Brown mallee (Eucalyptus viridis) is one of the most common eucalyptus trees in Australia. The mallee occurs mainly in southwest Australia.
The wood is very hard, dense, light brown to brown in color, and boasts an astonishing lack of cracks unlike other eucalyptus species. The grain is usually also very fine. It is wonderful to work with and polish.
