Chestnut Melamine Lacquer is a very easy-to-apply surface treatment from the renowned Chestnut company from Ipswich, England.
Melamine Lacquer is extremely durable (water and heat resistant) and is therefore also suitable for items that will see heavy use such as knives, notebooks, or pens. It dries after just 5 minutes while the complete chemical curing takes 7 days.
Chestnut Melamine Lacquer is free of petroleum-based solvents toluene and xylene. As a pretreatment, we recommend Chestnut Cellulose Sanding Sealer which can be diluted with Chestnut Cellulose Thinner.
It can be applied with a brush, a lint-free cloth (such as Chestnut Safety Cloths), or sprayed on.
Also ideal for all fatty woods like cocobolo and thuya burl!
