Padauk (Pterocarpus soyauxii) is also called coralwood due to its red color. It comes from West Africa and is found in Eastern Nigeria down through Congo to southern Angola. The tree reaches a height of 80 to 120 feet with a trunk diameter of 3 feet. It is also used in herbal medicine specifically against skin parasites and fungal infections.
The wood is hard, dense, and suitable for many fine crafts. As it ages, it darkens slightly to become brown.

Dimensions: approx. 125 x 22 x 22 mm, Pen Blank for large fountain pens and rollerballs

The pictured penblank is an example piece, you will receive a penblank which is similar in grain and color.

The delivered Penblanks are dry and can be processed immediately.

Our PenBlanks are ALL labeled, so they have a sticker with the wood species (in german).

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
