Sipo mahogany (Entandrophragma utile) grows in tropical Africa and reaches very good stature heights up to 65 meters. The trunk diameter can be up to 3 meters without problems. The trunk is predominantly straight and cylindrical, with shelf roots of 3 to 5 meters in height, sometimes extending into long shallow roots. The trunk is knot-free up to a height of up to 40 meters.
The wood is medium hard and can be worked quite well. It has a reddish brown color, which darkens over time. Since it is very dimensionally stable just after drying, it can be used wonderfully indoors and outdoors. It is used, among other things, as flooring (planks and parquet), in shipbuilding, in furniture making and decorative arts and crafts.
Dimensions: approx. 285 x 63 x 50 mm

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
